What is a geofencing?

Geofencing is the feature of the Lyric thermostat that allows your thermostat's temperature to change depending on whether you're home or away. The Lyric app uses the location of your smartphone to trigger changes in your thermostat set temperatures, adjusting your temperature when you're leaving or returning home. When you cross your geofence boundary, Lyric can use your smartphone's location and change your thermostat settings to your preferred Home or Away settings. Users who don't have regular schedules can automatically save energy when you're away while still making sure the temperature adjusting for when you return home.
A geofence is an invisible, circular boundary, around the location of your thermostat (your home).
If you have multiple users coming and going from the home, Lyric will keep things comfortable until the last person leaves and save energy until the first person returns.
