I'm having trouble with the Honeywell Home App on my iPhone IOS 14.2

Notice for users running IOS 14.2

Issue: Users who try to install a Smart Round, T5, T6 Pro, T6 or T6R thermostat using a mobile/tablet running 14.2 IOS will not be able to complete device installation using Wireless Accessory Configuration (WAC) mode. Users running IOS 14.2 with these thermostats already installed are not impacted; remote access will continue to work as normal.

Fix ETA: This is a generic issue with IOS 14.2, impacting all devices that connect/register using WAC mode. A resolution is being actively worked on by Apple, but a release schedule has not been shared as of yet.

For the interim, users are advised to opt for ONE of the following:

  • Setup/Register the thermostat using an Apple phone/tablet running 14.1 or lower
  • Setup/Register the thermostat using an Android phone
  • Follow the below workaround

T6 Pro (Trade) thermostats

New thermostats out of the box: Default setup process uses WAC mode. This needs to be disabled by the user:

  • Select ‘Start Setup’ -> ‘No’ ->
  • Complete the ISU configuration -> press 'Menu' -> 'Wi-Fi' -> 'WAC Settings' -> press ‘Select’ -> 'WAC Disable' -> Select 'Done'.
  • Navigate to the home screen , press and hold 'Setpoint' (on centre of screen) or press ‘Menu’ -> 'Wi-Fi' -> ‘Setup Wi-fi’.
  • Once complete, users can continue to install their device.

Already configured thermostats (i.e. the temperature is displayed on thermostat device screen):

  • Users are advised to disable WAC mode in thermostats settings in order to successfully setup/register.

To disable WAC mode on the thermostat device screen:

  • Press 'Menu' -> 'Wi-Fi' -> 'WAC Settings' -> press ‘Select’ -> 'WAC Disable' -> Select 'Done'.
  • Navigate to the home screen , press and hold 'Setpoint' (on centre of screen) or press ‘Menu’ -> 'Wi-Fi' -> ‘Setup Wi-fi’. Once complete, users can continue to install their device.

T5 (Retail) thermostats

New thermostats out of the box: Default setup process uses WAC mode. This needs to be disabled by the user:

  • Select ‘Start Setup’ -> ‘No’ -> Complete the ISU configuration -> press 'Menu' -> 'Wi-Fi' -> 'WAC Settings' -> press ‘Select’ -> 'WAC Disable' -> Select 'Done'.
  • Navigate to the home screen , press and hold 'Setpoint' (on centre of screen) or press ‘Menu’ -> 'Wi-Fi' -> ‘Setup Wi-fi’.
  • Once complete, users can continue to install their device.

T6 & T6R (EMEA) thermostats
Users are advised to register their thermostat using an Apple phone/tablet running 14.1 (or lower), or use an Android phone.

Smart Round Wi-Fi thermostats:

New thermostats out of the box:

  • Default setup process uses WAC mode. This needs to be disabled by the user, follow the same steps under Already configured thermostats

Already configured thermostats (i.e. the temperature is displayed on thermostat device screen):

  • Press and hold ‘Home icon’ on the thermostat screen. Navigate to Settings -> ‘WAC’ -> 'Disable' -> "Setup", then continue to install the thermostat with assistance from the Honeywell Home app.

How to look up my iOS version:

  • Access 'Settings' on your iPhone or iPad
